Chem Baddie Origin Story
Meet founder Chantal! She founded Chem Baddie to provide mind-blowing beauty and skincare products with sustainable, top-tier ingredients and packaging. The products are designed for the baddie on a budget and the Chem Baddie line delivers time and time again thanks to Chantal’s chemical engineering and beauty industry savvy.
Chantal grew up always loving math, science and all things beauty related. She’s always had sensitive skin and from an early age was interested in skincare. In high school, Chantal found a love for makeup and became a certified makeup artist. Her senior year of high school, she was hired at Sephora and has been a valued Certified Color Artist for almost five years. While working, she saw a huge gap in the cosmetic’s industry and wanted to change that. There were no high quality ingredient products that the average person could afford. She saw too much product wasted and not a lot of sustainability. All of this helped fuel her as she studied chemical engineering at Arizona State University. Throughout her years at the university, Chantal had many different cosmetic internships. What she learned supported her discoveries at Sephora. So she dove into the chemistry behind her favorite beauty lines, discovering how to improve their chemical makeup (and price points!) for even better results. She set out to build her own revolutionary brand.
Chantal graduated from Arizona State University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering with a Certificate in Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Since then, she’s worked non-stop to create the Chem Baddie line. Every product is under seventeen dollars and has the highest quality ingredients that any race, sex or age can use. All products will contain minimal packaging that will be recyclable and biodegradable whenever possible. Chem Baddie wants to help the cosmetics industry go greener and inspire everyone to see the amazing beauty and fun in science.
Chantal also recognizes the lack of representation in engineering. She hopes to inspire and give back to woman in science. She wants to identify those gaps in the math and science industries and help shatter some glass ceilings! With this in mind, Chem Baddie was created with 5% of all sales going to the Association for Women in Science.
Chantal has hand-picked a Chem Baddie team that believes in doing their part in saving the planet. We’ve created sustainable, high-quality and affordable products to bring out the inner baddie in all of us and we can’t wait to share them with you!
